Privacy & Legal
Without an account, your conversations, memories and dates are saved only on this device, inside this browser. If you switch to a new phone or browser, or clear this browser's data, they can't be recovered.
If you create an account, your conversations, memories and dates are also saved in Google Firebase, so you can sign in on a new device and find them there. Only you can open them when signed in. Photos and videos stay on the device where you added them.
Everything sent between your device and the services Karam uses is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Data saved in Firebase is encrypted at rest on Google's servers.
Karam does not use end-to-end encryption, so Google, as the infrastructure provider, could technically access stored data, subject to its privacy policy and the law. We chose this so you never lose your conversations if you forget your password. On your device, data is protected by your phone's own lock.
Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate Karam's responses. Audio is processed by ElevenLabs for text-to-speech and voice transcription. Both operate under their own privacy policies. These requests pass through a small relay on Cloudflare that keeps Karam's service keys private; it does not log or store what passes through it.
If you report one of Karam's replies or send feedback from Settings, that reply or your note is sent to the person running this test, along with your language and invite code. Nothing else from your conversations is shared.
Use "Clear all my data" in Settings, or clear this browser's site data, to delete everything on this device. If you're signed in, "Clear all my data" also deletes your cloud copy. You can also simply stop using Karam. We will never sell, share, or use your conversations for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
If you forget your password, you can reset it by email. Because your data is not end-to-end encrypted, resetting your password does not affect your conversations. They remain intact.
